Default Vista Media Center issue

For some reason my Media Center is running ridiculously slowly, like taking 2 minutes to open different sections like TV and Setup. It's also claiming I have no TV Tuner hardware when I do.

I'm a bit baffled as it was working fine the last time I tried it, just being rubbish now. Any advice welcome.

Try testing the card with some other tv software - isolate the problem to MC or your card.

It seems to be MC, the rather dire software that comes with the card gives me television.

i ppresume there is a rollback feature on Vista, if so can you try rolling it back to when it last worked?

But what rollback what and what to? The drivers seems to be fine, it's MC that has significant issues. It struggles just loading videos from my hard drive, so I'm bamboozled.

I fixed it! It turns out the Media Center Receiver Service needed to associate itself with my admin account on the PC, which I find bizarre.

But anyway woot

How did you associate it with the admin account? Am having problems with a few programs not running properly because they don't have admin permissions, means I have to press 'run in admin mode' every time I load it up, which is a pain in the ass.
