If you had to choose, would you prefer the club you support to be successful or the national English team to be successful? Post #101 | | Joe Blow

Club. I am taking great delight from the failings of the national team, it means I can enjoy an international tournament this summer without Terry, Gerrard and co. talking crap like "we are one of the best teams here" OR "we can really win this" maybe one day they'll realise talk is cheap. Come on Russia.

I don't want my club (Reading) to have any more success. It get boring, y'know. 8th in the Premiership is the best I could ever have asked for 5 years ago. So I'd like England to win something, no matter how unrealistic/unlikely that would be.

Country, easily. Wales/Germany (sadly more Welsh than German really) over Hamburg. Would take Wales qualifying for a tournament over HSV beating Bayern 3-0 in the Champions League final any day of the week.

Club, by far.
Rather see Everton win even the most insignificant trophy over England taking the World Cup.

dunno. both would be a bit **** actually. my club was a club that was a lower league team, and the identity was ingrained in every football match we played. now we've had extremely mild success in terms of promotion, and things have changed, and not with improvement. yes, I want us to win every match we play in, but I'd quite like that to happen without us ever becoming one of those big teams (which I know is impossible of course).
on the other hand, the england win would be years of boredom.
I want to see both england and fulham win something in my lifetime. but not a lot really, so no idea how to answer the question. just rambling now really

Country, because I don't strongly support any club, and the national team is the only time Australians actually take notice of football. The build-up to the Italy game at the WC was amazing, with big screens basically going up everywhere, and every pub in the country showing it...and people actually caring.

Club. Simply for the fact that there's way more games for clubs than national teams.
