What didn't you like about pro evo? I think Pro Evo is faster more end to end excitment although can be anoying if you play agaisnt Inter or brazil all the time online.

i used to love pro evo but just feel it hasnt progressed enough over last few years and hasnt got the same excitement anymore.

maybe im expecting too much from football games now.

Im having real problems with this game (i have the ps3 version)

How do i change the controls? I want X to change player not L1 or by moving right analog stick.

Why do none of my passes reach my player? He just stands there waiting for it instead of moving towards the ball!

Through balls, do they ACTUALLY work? Mine just go straight to the opposition.

Tackling, how do i tackle without getting sent off? The X button tackle is useless tbh.

I have played about 10 games on and offline and have only scored 1 goal, and usually lose 4-0 everytime!

This game is really wanking me off at the moment!

Can't speak for the console versions, but I can declare playing it on the PC is rubbish.

I don't understand why they change controls on you each year, I was very happy where the change player was.

GFX I think are pretty shocking, so many players look too fat or thin. No alcohol sponsors on shirts this year either, Rangers/Celtic/Liverpool shirts now look daft without something on them.

Really a major step back from 07, there's no fluencey to it this time around. The amount of breaks in the ball are shocking, you can now tackle a player many times and they can still end up with the ball back to them anyway.

A lot of the players act like wimps too, if they get a soft challenge on them, no matter what they won't move for a second or two, and it looks like all they got was a slight nudge. Doesn't make a different if a players strength is rated at 1 or 99, they're all affected the same.

Player positioning and reaction is awful, corners for example, I whip the ball in defender blindly heads it to the 18 yard line where I had a player there, thinking it was a perfect tee up for a shot, the effing idiot just runs away from the ball heading back to my half of the pitch, and he was my attacking midfieder!

Similar instances seems very common as well, eg my attackers happen to be in with my defenders or my CB is where my forward should be.

Is it just me or is it damn near impossible to score a free kick? Anytime I get a FK on target its a slow paced shot nearly going over the bar which the keeper just has to catch, anytime i get some power on it, just flys over the bar. Yet the computer always scores on me with a FK anytime they're near the box.

Very silly bugs in it as well, eg reloading a saved tournement changes your team's default formation. If you hit a shot and it just misses the target theres a comment on how the keeper made a great save.

I think EA's objective was to annoy as many people as they can with this release, I'm glad I don't own this sham of a football game. If I had to buy it, i'd get it for someone I didn't like.

it just takes abit of getting into vidoy, through balls are more realistic tbh you can only play them at the right time or they fail, try doing be a pro mode and asking for through balls and you should see where they should be used.

I havent tried changing the controls because it wont get confusing for when PES08 is out

i do avoid using the sliding tackle unless im like head on or i know i can make it, like when i run along-side him and then hook the ball

I had problems with scoring at first too, try short passes and then shooting from edge of area/ close range

keepers seem inhumanly good at times.

hope you get into this, you could join the league too at the end of the season

I like this but it's just not quite there. Fifa definitely had the right idea in speeding the pace of the game down and making it more methodical. Problem is, they let themselves down with silly little things like the players being clunky and unresponsive. It just makes the game nothing like as fun as it could/should be.

Also it's very difficult to get a decent game online, I've been playing ranked and some of the guys you play against don't try and play football at all - either long balls over the top or endless monging on the sprint button.

I got the game yesterday. I had trouble scoring but i have just been on a five game winning streak online winning most games by two goals.

Well said tbh thats why I exchanged mine in for nhl 08 which is a far better game and more fun all round.

I've always prefered Fifa to Pro Evo (With exception of ISS2 ofc) but lately i'm so peed off with the game, it's gone downhill every version and the last one Fifa 07 just took the biscuit, played as Liverpool and was thrashing every team like 7-0, changed to Acrrington Stanley and still i was beating teams like Man Utd 4-0 because of awful AI ability.

PES08 on the other hand, even though some have slated i think the demo was really refreshing, the pace of the game was a bit fast but will probably be tuned down for the release.

Even the thing that would have made me tempted the "Be a Pro" option sounded fantastic but you cant do a career which just makes me feel why bother implementing it in the first place then.

Not gonna bother with wasting my money on Fifa again Pro Evo have taken a massive lead out of the two imo.
