Call Of Duty 4 was delivered earlier on, and as I went to play it it said something about my graphics card not supporting alpha blend or something, and after looking it up on google it emerged I need to get myself a new graphics card.
I currently have an Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128mb, but for COD4 I need a 6600 or better.
Don't really know much about graphics card or where to look, but google didn't really come up with any decent looking sites. Again due to my lack of knowledge in this subject I can't really determine a budget, but obviously I don't want it to be too steep.
Yeah it's around 4 years old I reckon, it's a really good PC it's just the graphics card has always been quite a low end one, and now with new games such as COD4 coming out it really just can't hack it anymore.
It's basically the slot your gfx card plugs into. AGP is the old slot, newer motherboards use PCI express. FX5200 was made for both I believe so could be either.
Start > Run > dxdiag
Have a look in the display tab, should tell you under Chip Type.
Whichever it is, best budget buy is probably the 7600GT which is about £50 for both AGP and PCI-E (Make sure you buy the right one!)
For a little more the Radeon X1950 Pro is a fantastic card for the money (£80 PCI-E or £100 AGP)
