He's a bit lazy, so his thing is not a long 38-game league season. In cups and for the national team he is exceptional though. He would frustrate English fans expecting a high work rate from their club players.

I think general concensus with him is that you need to pander to him a little and build around him for him to be most effective. Something that Villarreal have been changing more recently. Didnt he fall out with Pelligrino as well ? I heard one of either Marcotti or Balague going on about how he kinda likes to train when he likes to train and everyone kinda allows him these luxuries to get the best from him. All changed now.
Don't think he'd do as well in the Prem tbh
