iPhone actually quite decent. Was surprised when I tried it. Photo program is good as well and works smoothly for showing pictures.

Would never buy one though, especially for the price it's going for, and lack of 3G etc. (not that I ever use that). But it's a good device from what I've seen.

Are you thinking of the high school kid in NY? That was a couple of months back. He actually did a hardware crack, in that he spent the summer soldering, etc with the help of some Russians on the internet.

He was offered a consulting job by another (small) computer company, not Apple. And also got a 350Z and a few iPhones (which he gave to the Russian internet guys), in return for giving them the cracked phone.

Not sure if there had been a software crack since, but that story was pretty interesting!

I can see the appeal of the iphone if you really don't want to carry around a phone and a mp3 player but to me its just not worth it unless you can easily afford it and even then there are better phones.

Not really a fanboy as such - I pick the best product for my budget/feature set regardless of who made it (my newest TFT monitor is some German company I'd never heard of) - I've had iPods in the past and found them to be the best product in that genre.

I didn't start the thread - but posted in it about half way down Page 2 of it iirc.

The iPhone isn't the best mobile phone out there - I have a Smartphone anyhows - which cost me nothing and has about twice as many fetures in it than the equivalent which in some quarters is being heralded as "the greatest thing ever".

Battery life if pretty good, found it to last a fair bit longer than an N95. Really is quite good for browsing the web when you are out, listening to music, videos on it look superb. Well worth getting an unlocked one, wouldn't pay what some of these jokers are going to be paying over here tbh.

iPhone doesn't even do MMS. It's a joke of a phone.

If anyone wants a cool phone go for the K850i - it's awesome apart from the camera which is worse quality that the Nokia N95 (for daytime pics).

Internet is the iphone big plus from my understanding at least, who cares about MMS if you can send an actual e-mail really?
