From Daish's pov he gets a managerial role with increased job security. Harder for him to be sacked since he's not responsible for the results. Probably not as satisfying though.

iirc, the clubs where the chairmen overly interfere in choosing tactics and players always blame the manager, so can't see this being any different.

I assume they get a vote on all issues of running the club including the sacking of the manager, fans will claim his team talks, training and touchline shouting isn't good enough etc, fans won't take the blame themselves for the team lossing even if they should
