Unless I'm mistaken the unsponsored name would be The Football Conference. Therefore, unless you're contractually obliged to say the sponsored name, a lot of people won't. Can understand Blue Square wanting to change it, strong association of the Conference name with GM and Nationwide.

I can understand the re-investing the profits stuff, but those two just seem silly.

I can very well see that two midfielders with PASSION and GRIT will consistently be picked over the one guy who can ping a decent pass, because the 'fans' will only ever remember the ones that don't come off...

I do have my doubts about this but I'm not going to write it off as quickly as the majority of people in this thread.

I am looking forward to see how it works in practice. I agree that the guy who started the whole thing can't really lose now.

i reckon it's more likely they'll pick four 'flair' players across midfield (and i use that term very very loosely at BSP level) and it'll still take them half a season or more to realise that they're leaking goals because noone will tackle back. I also predict, but can't be arsed to draw a venn diagram to accompany this theory, that one or two members are also regular posters in GQ, and will post a topic that reads "SEE the closing down bug is BASED ON REAL FOOTBALL looks like SI have got it spot on again if you don't like it don't play it can I be a mod plz miles?"
