Recently I've been researching into starting to buy shares. But so far have not taken the plunge. Although I do have quite a few shares in William Hill, which I got for £1.80, peaked at £6.70, sold some at £6.20 and now dropped to £5.50 in the last couple of weeks.

I've found this virtual share trading website, which I thought would be a good way to practise without the risk.

It is free to join and you get £100,000 of virtual money. To buy and sell shares in the real share markets.

This could be quite fun.

Doing something like this at school with www.studentinvestor.org which is pretty good fun. What with the FTSE doing awfully barring Rio Tinto/Anglo American recently I've done awful however.

It's not that bad. It's well up on where it was a year ago, and where it was a couple of months ago. It just isn't peaking right now.
