Im sure the FA only charged him due to it being on Sky (think it was) and a massive uproar about it.

Also the FA are contradicting their own rules. As they state if the ref punishes a player at the time of the inncident, they wont step in as they class the matter as closed

the most a ref can do is send someone off, if a player gets a red card the fa can extend the ban to whatever they like
