Load the Vista boot DVD and do it from there.

What if the disc is unavailable? The laptop came with it installed and the disc is in a box somewhere in the house.

Nothing to do with that Eddie, the screen is cracked and she's got a new laptop anyway, so she wants it formatting and if the repair people can fix it, then I get it
