That said i think it is a stupid decision to sack Simmo. Preston need to realise that the size of their club is relative to where they find themselves in the league structure </BLOCKQUOTE>

like you know the first ****ing thing about it ffs, he inherited a decent squad, dismantled it, fell out with an un precedented amount of players which resulted in the sale of our captain to one of our closest rivals he was our penalty taker and since his sale have promptly missed the next 4 penners.

infact if we had scored them he probably wouldnt have been sacked with the extra points we would have had so i am glad it has come back to haunt the useless twat.

anyways we resorted to long ball rubbish with no method in our play, we were shocking in all aspects of our play with no signs of recovery.

with billy davies and moyes before him we have been there or thereabouts a few times which for a club our size is good but it just shows what you can do in this league with an average bunch and some decent coaching.

I have been asking for him to go since feb when it became clear that any influence BD had had on the squad had gone and results where gradually getting worse with no sign of improvement, we are averaging less than a point a game I think since feb last, just not good enough.

On top of all this Simpson has been in the press whining on, blaming the players, the fans he even changed the song we ran out to as he said the old one did not get the players 'up for it' - all in all a bignosed useles twat, we are well shut of him.

so jewell is rubbish despite guiding wigan to a level they have previously only been able to dream of but preston fans shouldnt be unhappy about being near the bottom of div one?

What is it with fans who forget where they were when these managers took over, and what they had to put up with before them. Paul Jewell is far too good for Preston, he has proved himself as a manager who can get the best out of the most average of teams. Without him where would you be now? Its the same to a lesser extent with Birmingham fans, and some Everton fans who until recently were moaning constantly about Moyes. See if youd take Jewell back next season when youre languishing in the lower reaches of the championship.

Disagree with those examples

Although Nugent probably wasn't worth six million, he hasn't really had a chance to prove himself in the Premier League yet. He was good for Preston until everyone started heavily marking him, which allowed Preston's other forwards to wreak havoc and over-achieve. Maybe

As for Woodgate, he's in my opinion the best defender outside the top clubs in the Premiership, could easily have been worth £15 million but Real Madrid foolishly let him go as soon as he was starting to get back to his best.

at the risk of sounding bias, i'd rate Lescott over Woodgate anyday tbf.

Nugent is a Championship player, Even Healy has struggled to get into the premiership, and while i feel Nugent may of been a premiership striker of the future, he's a few years to early for it, and by taking the chance to jump so soon, it may have a negative effect for him in the near future
