I've played several different demos for the game, both single and multi-player, and never has the phrase "style over substance" been more apt. Sick fed up saying it, but I really really don't care if a game looks like it's been made for a Megadrive, as long as it's a good game. Maybe I'm easily pleased, but I don't need lifelike graphics. I'll settle for competent AI, engaging gameplay, an absorbing storyline. It's an FPS, so it doesn't even really have to do anything new, just do the usual stuff well.
EA and Crytek seem to be bigging up the "so good almost no PC will run it maxed out" claims, but instead of making it so pretty, they should have paid more attention to the gameplay faults, namely the poor AI shown by enemies (uncloak in front of two guys, shoot one in head. His buddy, standing three feet away, watches me execute his mate, turns away, and continues his patrol route, totally not bothered

) and the very linear nature of the levels. While most FPS's are linear in nature, you can try to break it up slightly by giving missions at the start and leaving the map open to exploration. Instead, Crytek seem to have used landscape to create almost a path you must follow, surrounded by trees and cliffs.
