Rep Power: 0 | 1, What is an "Optician"
A fishy thing with eight legs. 2, What is an "Optomotrist"
The baddy from the Spiderman movie. 3, Who are the most qualified people within a practise - and why do you think that is?
The one with the dictionary. 4, Which opticians do you frequent, and why?
I don't because they don't sell sweets.
Sorry for the daft answers but I don't want to help Opticians - they b*ggered me about when I applied for a job and also contributed to me splitting up with my gf at the time. |

I don't really have much of an opinion on them since I don't ever go but the 1 time my mom wanted to take me there (about 10 years ago so might have changed) it was freaking impossible to get an appointment, I don't remember how long it exactly took but I know it was very long.
That was back in France btw.

That's about it - thanks for your time!
| 1. An Asian person who checks my eyes every few years.
2. An Asian person who I buy my glasses off every few years.
3. Optomertrist, probably because Optician sounds like a "tradie" type name and Optomertrist sounds like a name you have to get a university degree or something.
4. Whichever one has the cheapest glasses.

1) The people who weren't smart or driven enough to go to university and have found their lives have ended up working in an Opticians where they will give advice on what glass/frame is correct for the person, factors verging more on the fashion/functionality side rather than medical.
2) A trained proffesional who's basically into the science of the eye and is like a doctor but specifically for the eye.
3) I only know of the two aforementioned roles so I'll obviously go with Optomotrist.
4) I haven't been for a couple of years, last one I went to was in Tesco Extra (I think).

1, What is an "Optician"
A practitioner who is trained to conduct sight tests, basic eye examination, check for obvious signs of disease and offer a range of glasses and lenses.
2, What is an "Optomotrist"
A medically qualified specialist who can check for less obvious signs of disease and carry out all other functions of an optician.
3, Who are the most qualified people within a practise - and why do you think that is?
The one with the most letters after their name. Usually the senior optomotrist.
4, Which opticians do you frequent, and why?
A variety - spec savers, vision express, etc.
