I read a rumour this movie was inspired by the works H.P. Lovecraft ?
Also, there was a pretty poor Godzilla movie made in Hollywood a few years back, would they go there again?

Havin watched the videos, read the blogs, etc...... I'm not convinced it is a Godzilla movie, it seems to be more an alien invasion movie. The guy in the videos, Van, talks constantly that "they" are coming, how "they" exist only for war, and how "they" will crumble the cities of man. He also talks about organising a resistance, a way to fight back. It seems more invading army than giant thunderlizard.

Well Lovecraft wrote a lot about human civilization bringing about it's own downfall through decadence and barbarity, so maybe it's something along those lines. Perhaps retribution for climate change/continuing global conflict/world poverty, dunno really.

Maybe aliens have decided that we're just not gonna make it, and decide to clean the panet up?
