Which is the best one-stop shop for getting rid of internet nasties such as these? I'm bloody sick of them and, with this computer needing to be nice and fast for recording purposes, I'd like to keep it sh!te-free.

adaware is fine, and dont mean to teach you to suck eggs, etc, etc but do you even have google toolbar? spybot and adblock if you use firefox can claim wins too

What browser are you using? Firefox will stop most of these issues.

Don't fully understand relevance of Google toolbar, but no I don't have it. I'm using IE but I think I feel the wind of change eddying around my desk. If I get Firefox, will I still need Adblock?

google toolbar had a built in popup blocker in it

aaaaah I see.

So which of Firefox, AdAware, Adblock, Adblock Plus and Google toolbar do we think will do the trick? Might just whack em all on.

get firefox with adblock and then download AdAware and run a scan once a week
