Don't mind it tbh, as until there's a decent infrastructure in place it at least keeps it usable.
On Virgin 20MB, limits in place between 4pm and midnight whereby if you go over 4GB your connection speed drops. Not to fussed about p2p shaping as I don't use them anyway.

I'm on BT and they definitely manage the traffic on sundays. There's a massive drop as people go to use it. I tend to avoid doing anything important on a sunday full stop to stop myself getting stressed about it.

These people who are getting managed, does their FUP say it? Or is it vague on what traffic management they use, as i suspect it is

I'm on Be, by far the best ISP I've ever come across.

Errr meant to add, they don't shape traffic, at least not that I'm aware of.

I'm with Virgin and I do a fair bit of downloading. They apparently have a limit between 3pm and midnight - a 'fair usage policy'.
I guess if you use a faster P2P client such as Bittorent this could be a problem. I use something a bit slower, which can manage the speed better. Not had any problems so far. |
