Ebay  . Isn't her attachment to it based on the fact that it belonged to you? In which case, getting something second-hand might not melt her heart in quite the same way?
Why not give her another old jumper of yours?

yeah but if i found the same one somewhere, like on ebay, i could go 'look, i actually do care, i even went to all the trouble of finding the exact same jumper' then she'd say no it doesn't matter, its not the same, but i still get brownie points for trying, even though i actually care very little

I think she's learnt a valuable lesson here about how to take care of things. Maybe she wont do it to the next jumper.

If you've been with her a long time then no doubt the losing the jumper is playing in her mind alongside the losing you / things have changed thing
She'll probably say she wants a kid next. Then let's see how hard you try to get that jumper back, be freaking swimming to the Bahamas!
