| Yup, being sober while everyone is drunk is one of the most miserable experiences around. What is hilarious to the drunk, is bland to the sober.
Not that I advocate actually being drunk, just as observation.

I can, but alcohol makes it better. And being completly sober among drunk people is awful

Yes and no, depending on the evenings events, where I am, who I am with etc.
I only really enjoy getting really drunk at house parties, I don't feel safe getting hammered when i'm out somewhere.

There are nights when I naturally feel energetic and ready to have a boogie, so I don't need alcohol. But then there are the nights when I just can't be bothered to do much, so alcohol is essential for a decent night out. Without it I would feel awkward when dancing around drunken friends I think.
But most nights I'm energetic anyway so no, I don't need alcohol to have a good night, most nights.

Never been out whilst other people are drinking and I haven't been, thank god. And yes I do need beer to have a very good night.

no, then again i have the affliction of remembering with near perfect clarity what happens when i drink & also sober up ridiculously quick
so basically its a case of spending money for nothing, as sober or drunk i'll still have just as much fun and the same night out
