I used to go out and get trollied every weekend - but in my old age the thought of being packed into a club while rubbing up against random blondes and attempting to dance to Toxic by Brittney Spears seems kinda boring.
A couple of pints whilst watching the footie will do me!

A girl I work with doesn't drink for medical reasons (She's alergic to alcohol, one drink and she's in hospital), but she still comes out on work nights out and has a great time. She's first onto the dancefloor and last off, and if you saw how she carried on, laughing and doing daft things then you'd think she was wasted.
That said, I couldn't do it. I've been out and stayed sober once when I was really ill and couldn't face alcohol, and it was no fun. I felt like I was a school teacher looking after kids on a trip out. Making sure everyone was OK at every pub, making sure everyone got into the taxis on the way home, trying to convince people they didn't really need that traffic cone. Never again.

I've done it, and to be honest the nights were pretty ****. You're not on the same wavelength as anybody else. The majority of the music is rubbish, girls look rubbish, your mates are rubbish, the place looks rubbish.
When you're drunk, or even just having a few, the edge is taken off everything and stuff is just better.

Haven't drunk alcohol for 5 years now, and have had plenty of good nights out since. You can cringe sometimes when your mates do some stupid stuff, though.

I need alcohol, also need certain surroundings too.
Hate clubs, unless they are dingy and smell of vomit and play indie music.
