My brother has one with PES. He's pretty happy about it.

Only played a few matches, but it's decent to say the least.

I read somewhere that UMD load times are much shorter with the new one btw.

The homebrew side is fairly good though.

Downgradeing to 1.5, then installing the latest DarkAlex firmware your first action.

I'd buy one if Sony made it easy to put original PlayStation games on it. I nearly bought one recently for that purpose, but it looked like a lot of work to get one in the proper state for it and didn't bother. I remember it taking a lot of mincing about to get a SNES emulator working on the one I had.

Anyway everybody sells them on, cut out the middleman and just don't bother.

IT just looks the same, anyone got a comparison picture?

Transformers is good fun, on the Xbox anyway, people don't like it because it gets repetitive because all you do is shoot your weapon, throw or do a 3 hit combo, I don't really know what they expect from a giant arse robot

Have been thinking about giving the PSP another try, that said I also want a Mega CD at the moment aswell, just lost an auction on Ebay for one

I really dont think there are any worthwhile games on it, Syphon Filter was the only remotely good title on it and that took me about a day to complete. Just gets used as a gloryfied ipod nowdays

Are the loading times on them still shocking?

sometimes, most recent game I had on it was the new metal gear which was boring, poor loading times on that.

rats, what kind of things can you do on homebrew? is it easy to do now? I remember when Id just got it they'd had this massive update that made it impossible

Haven't used my PSP since finishing at SI last year.

It's a very good travel accesory, but it's an awful games machine.

I used to use this place for news and all that.

The latest Dark Alex stuff meant you could rip and run any PS1 game with a little conversion (made easier now afaik). Had Silent Hill and ISSPE2 running on it.

I remember having a few homebrew bits that were good too. There were original Doom and Quake 'ports' (I " because I seem to remember them being new levels etc).

You can also change the clock speed and other techy bits to make everything run far smoother all the time, as apose to just when a UMD is running.

DivX players, better browsers, there's a lot of stuff out there now. As i said, that forum should cover most of it. Although it's either changed it's look since I last visited or it's the wrong one. The former I think. hopefully.
