There's a house near me with them up already FFS, the whole bloody thing is covered in them and it just looks ridiculous as it's still the middle of November. I love Christmas, but that's just wrong.

So when's it too soon to put them up? When's acceptable? Anyone want to defend this fellow near me with them up already? I'm thinking of putting mine up mid-December. Possibly Sunday 9th.

Some people where i live never bother to take them down, just don't turn the lights on again til December time.

I like in america how they start the day after thanksgiving, which would be the last friday of november

We usually put ours up in either the second or third weekend of December, so this year it will be around the 15th.

That said, I still haven't seen any decorated houses yet this year. The lights in the town went up last night, by the looks of it, but weren't finished or on this morning when I went to work.

Ours have always gone up once we've broken up from school (mum works in a school) and always come down on new years day.
