I saw a local post-rock band called Felix last week, who played an amusing cover of Ghostbusters for a friend. Got them the biggest cheer of the night afterwards too.

not really a strict follower of genres but have a couple of albums from groups mentioned here, so thought i'd chip in with a couple of new ones that sound similar to my ears.
person pitch by panda bear - pet sounds-esque in some places.
cryptograms by deerhunter - more vocal and electronic than those mentioned so far.
copia by eluvium - more organy and classicy sounding.

| I'm pretty sure they are opening for the EITS show I'm going to, so I'll be sure to post a review of the show.

aye mono are great, you are there is one of those albums that never really gets old, the other one i have which i bought randomly due to a record shop recommendation when i had never heard of them is called something like "Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered and the Sun Shined.", which isn't as good as you are there but it pretty great anyway. they're just AMAZING live too, go see them if you get a chance.
the fountain soundtrack is post-rock i guess, (mogwai and kronos quartet, composed by clint mansell) it's very very good.

I went to the Explosions in the Sky show last night, which was amazing. Eluvium opened for them and were pretty good, although a bit boring. EITS came on around 11 and played until aeound 12:30, which is a pretty long set for them. They said they'd be back in June as well \o/.
Is anybody planing on seeing them over there?

| They really are quite good. I saw them play with This Will Destroy You and was very impressed by them. I bought their tour EP, but haven't picked up the full album yet. They are going to be touring again soon though.
