i've got 'The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place' and if I'm brutally honest, it doesn't do a huge amount for me. Don't really find their stuff that great.
Having said that, Tony Robertson made me listen to Cats and Cats and Cats who I felt were similar, yet really liked. So who knows.

I think 'The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place' is their best CD, 'Your Hand in Mine' and 'First Breath...' so good.

Not got round to getting the new CD yet, is it any good then?

I'm liking My Bloody Valentine, God Speed..., Do Make Say think, also got a song by someone called David Torn. Is this all Post Rock?

if so I am liking it at the moment

I will be seeing EITS for the first time next month, so am really looking forward to that as well
went to see Red Sparowes last year and they were class, not usually my sort of thing, but I've started listening to stuff like Pelican, Isis, ETIS and that probably because my mate likes them

going to go and see ETIS in April, just have to book the ticket and Pelican with These Arms Are Snakes is the day before, should be  </BLOCKQUOTE>

Im going to see Pelican in April, really looking forward to it.

And also hoping to pick up EITS album sometime later today. They are just pure brilliance.

I dunno, if you're looking at bands achieving perfection in their field, I might be tempted to nominate The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place. Its absolutely huge.

Some post-rock(ish) ive been listening to recently:
Yndi Halda
Unwed Sailor
Jeniferever
Fight Fire With Water (Leicester band)
Maybeshewill (Another Leicester band, recently split)
Red Sparowes
Isis
Bossk
Pelican
65daysofstatic
EITS
God Is An Astronaut
A Lily (Yndi Halda side project)
Saxon Shore
Sika Redem
A Silver Mt. Zion
When They Know You They Will Run
Cats and Cats and Cats
Four Tet
Maps

Tbh im not too sure if all of those are 100% post-rock but definatly fit in the genre somwhere.
During the last thread, I was made aware of bands like Red Sparowes, a few bands I knew of but didnt listen to before that thread. Those were - EITS, A Silver Mt. Zion, Pelican and Bossk.

Ive seen Yndi Halda, A Lily, Unwed Sailor, Cats and Cats and Cats, Sika Redem, Fight Fire With Water, Maybeshewill, 65daysofstatic and Bossk around the last year.
Im also going to see Jeniferever in April, which also clashes with a friends band supporting Pelican and These Arms Are Snakes, so thats a choice I need to make to rearrange one of the gigs.

Also this band, The Strange Death of Liberal England, who ive been listening to recently are playing a gig near me in March which I might check out.

Ive only heard the two songs on their myspace so from that im guessing theyre post-rock(ish).
