Default Anyone know how to get to Gosport by train?

Multimap says the nearest station is Portsmouth Harbour, but unforunately Gosport is separated from the train station by the harbour.

Seems like Fareham and Porchester would be the most convenient train stations but they are miles away.

Can anyone help please?

Ferry runs across the harbour every 12 minutes or something during the day so not a problem

There is no train station in Gosport, your best bet is to goto Portsmouth Harbour & get the ferry over to Gosport, they're quite regular from there so shouldn't be much of a problem.

Depends where in Gosport you need to get to though as it may be easier to get to Fareham & then a bus down if you're not going down too far into Gosport.

What the other two have said. Ferries run a lot during the day, so hop across and then a bus or cab to wherever you need to go.

Cheers fellas.

Gosport ferry service

Every 7 and a half minutes in the morning. Direct from Portsmouth Harbour station too.

Multimap showed Portsmouth Harbour to be the nearest station. Luckily I noticed the harbour separating Gosport and the station!

I didn't know about that. Are they fond of sailors?

Only had the pleasure of drinking in Gosport twice. But taxi's were plentiful.

Normally driving out of town, but still.
