Theres just no glory in chivalry anymore, at least not relative to the chance of getting killed in the process. Dont get me wrong, I like to do the right thing 'most' of the time, but there is a line. But id like to think I wouldnt stand by and watch some kid/old man/woman get beaten up/attacked. But be assured that any incident I stepped into would after I called 999, for backup!

Really depends on the situation, i could quite imagine where i live that they may run off, but come back in the middle of the night and brick your windows or petrol bomb your car etc.

My housemate saw a group of lads beating another lad to a pulp in the middle of the day last week. I mean really going for it, jumping on his head etc. If he survived, which is by no means certain, they'd be up for attempted murder.
What shocked her was that no-one else was intervening. It was at a busy bus stop at 5pm, and no-one did anything. Pretty grim.

Rep Power: 0 | Bystander Apathy - people are less likely to intervene if there are more people present.

I'd run normally, but last time I encountered them I stood my ground due to booze.

I like the idea of the film Escape to New York.
Perhaps we can dump them on an island somewhere?
