Perhaps it's an extreme case, but also perhaps it's something which is becoming more prevalent in the UK in recent times.
| whether that's true or not, that's so very BG.
agree that these stories are horrible and disturbing. but this sort of thing happens all over the world and has done forever.
in answer to the title question, no, I'd run away because I'm a big girl's blouse.

If kids like that did what you said happened to that woman then surely someone could have a word? Or just stay the night (nae shaggin) and open the door to them and sort them oot.
| Unfortunately, I can't be there all of the time GK. It doesn't happen often, but still enough to cause her grief. She does report it to the police amd there's also an anti-social behaviour report form to fill in, but you might as well be ****ing in the wind for all the good it will do.

If a group of sc*mbags were attacking my mates,my family,my gf etc. then I would have no hesitation of jumping in.If they were constantly outside my house vandalising my possessions and looking for trouble, as was the case in the original post, then I would confront them with some sort of weapon,a bat, hurl, whatever.Bate some sense into them.
Actually now that I remember,a guy I know lives in this estate in my home town and it was suffering from similiar problems, drunk teens vandalising cars and property....One night he was watching tv when he heard banging outside,he looked out the window to see a gang of teens,4 of them aged between 16 and 19,attempting to turn over his car. What does he do only grab his sons hurl, runs outside, manages to grab one of them by the neck and threatned to kill them if he saw them cause trouble again. He was brave, but it paid dividends as the neighbourhood has quietened down since.

| I'm surprised he wasn't collared by the police for using threatening behaviour. It seems they are quick enough to become involved when a scumbag who's been working themselves, becomes the 'victim' and makes a complaint. :thdn:

| Oh that would be me saying that fella who tried to do Scott Brown's leg in in the CL would be served right if he broke his leg in the next match he played in 6 places and could never walk again.

Wouldn't jump in for anybody except my family (mother, father and brother) if the yobs looked serious. Might allow the parents actually, I have more years to lose. Friends can be found daily.

I live in Brooklyn so the answer would be no. I'm not trying to die, kids have guns here.

I know it sounds selfish, but if my family is involved, I would get into it even if they are carrying AK-47's.
However, if it is some stranger, it would be a split-second decision. Maybe! At the least, I will try and shout them away...and we could see from there on!

Each situation is different, direct involvement would have to be reserved for people closer to be and sorry complete strangers :/ i'll call the police for you. I have never come across a complete stranger being totally hammered though so i really couldnt say how i would react.
They are scum, daughter should have picked up a brick and smashed it over on of their heads and than ran or something (she is a girl) ... shouting 'always outnumbered, never outgunned' would be a bonus
