This was the one where you had to press the "Foreign Players" button to look at anyone playing abroad.

I remember trying to buy Gazza and the transfer fell through because he couldn't get a work permit.

Also never pay 50000 win bonus, it never ever worked.

The best anti-piracy measure was those weird cardboard cryptic wheel things where you had to align the windows to a given code to get the answer. Zool (remember that) contained one iirc.

I had a game like that!

Think it was a Premier Manager game!

Got it from the Library, and I kinda just kept the wheel. So nobody would ever get the game out. It ended up being took off the shelve, and buying it off them for about 50p. Little did they know of my wheel stealing exploits!

I remember the Zool 'Wheel'. Zool 2 had one printed on film IIRC, which was probably impossible to scan, the idea of it I assume. Must have cost a bomb though

Actually, that probably would explain the Chupa Chups sponsorship and product placement EVERYWHERE in the game

I remember Road Rash on the Amiga had an anti-piracy method that asked you questions about the stats of bikes (which were all in the manual).

We had a nostalgia day at one point and played all the old Amiga games but couldn't find the manual for Road Rash, so we all took turns at guessing the answers to the questions until it worked. Then when we got in the game we wrote down all the stats of all the bikes so that it'd never happen again.

Great times.
