Hi, I turned off my laptop about a hour ago, but when i tried turning it back on about 10 minutes ago a black screen with writing on it appeared, it said

"We apologize for the inconveniece, but windows did not start successfully. A recent haredware or software change might of caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose last known good configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or because the power or reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure that caused the problem, choose start windows normally

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)

Start Windows normally

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice"

Anyone know how to fix this ?, I've tried all options but none work, i really hope you can help as i have some important stuff to do on the Laptop (like FM08 8.0.1)

Yeah, this happened to my housemate, in the end just reinstalled XP

It appears you use Vista.

If you turn your laptop off, always make sure the lights are off. You have to wait a little bit long.

Go to thte command prompt, there are some commands you can run that will check your disk for you, I can't remember what they are though. Im sure someone will know.

Make sure your keyboard is connected, and that it's seen by the system during the POST.
