One of the D Cs would have to play as DM C too.
Or do you want a 4-1-3-2 tactic (only 1 DM C, 3 M Cs)?
Or something else?
| The 3-5-2 is a possibility, but it's a bit of 4-2-2-2 in disguise, isn't it? I mean, in 4-2-2-2, when the fullbacks go forward, the DCs spread and at least one of the DMs retreats to cover for them. But it could work, especially if we get somebody good for the LWB/LM role. By freeing them and guaranteeing they won't have a very defensive role, we can choose someone better than our options for LB.
4-1-3-2 doesn't change much, but it may work, if we don't have a midfielder that's a DM in disguise - I mean, he must have creative ability, unlike Mineiro for example.
At the moment, I would suggest 4-1-4-1, with the midfield as AM L, CM, CM, AM R, with hardworking but offensive CMs like Elano. Of course, depending on how you interpret the role of AM R/L, this could be understood as 4-1-2-3.

I'm too lazy to think this in detail, but perhaps something like
GK Júlio César
DL Cap. Nascimento
DC Juan
DC Lúcio
DR Belletti
DM Gilberto Silva
MC Elano
MC Kaká
AML Ronaldinho Gaúcho
AMR Robinho
ST A. Duck

| The full backs would only have defensive roles here, right?

| This would be almost like a 4-1-2-3 indeed.
It's too attacking for my taste. |

Messi's goal has been disallowed as he was in off-side position.

| Well, there's no good center-forward, so why not put Lucas in Kaká's place, and then Kaká as the forward? Kaká is a versatile enough player that he might be able to pull it off (relying on Robinho and Ronaldinho Gaúcho to score some of the goals when Kaká plays pivô).

I think you waste Kaká using him that way.

Where would you play him? Dunga has pulled him far back from the forwards (or did in the second half against Colombia), and that wastes him. He plays like a forward for Milan -- and it's better to "waste" him as a forward than to persist with Afonso Alves.
Really, though, it would be better to put one of us in place of Afonso... At least we could all tell our friends that we have talked to #9 on the internet and he knows nothing about football. |

| Possibly, if we deem Pato to be unready. Kaká is practically a forward at Milan anyway. Diego could also be in the midfield beside Elano.

What about something like this:
The usual back four
+
DM C - Gilberto Silva
M R - Elano
M L - Ronaldinho
AM C - Kaká
S C - Robinho
S C - Capitão Nascimento
