Do we need to go through this again? Why are Brazil required to play gung-ho to be recognized as "Brazil"? So everyone can play all-out defence against us but when we need to hold on to a lead or going to face tough opposition we still need to play "beautiful", offensive football?

Yes, the thing is that most foreigners have a romanticized and stereotyped image of Brazilian football.

But that jogo bonito style died in 1986 after we again lost a WC despite playing beautiful football.

It's ridiculous that everyone else are free to evolve while we still have to play like we did 30 years ago.

If to win a tournament we have to play like we did in Copa América or in 1994, then so be it.

Winning playing ugly football >>>>>>> losing playing beautiful football

And it's not even like we're playing really ugly football. In the last Copa América, we played ridiculously bad every single game and no one said anything; when we actually played rather entertaining football (at least I was entertained) against Argentina in the final, even Blatter went out of his way to say that he was disappointed with Brazil playing "ugly"

Well, compared to their unrealistic and outdated expectations we are playing ugly, "unBrazilian" football.

I agree though the match against Argentina was very entertaining.

Argentina was expected to crush us, but they got crushed instead.

It's always nice to see the underdog win, isn't it?

Yes, especially when it's against the arch-rivals.

If the opponents want to see Brazil play jogo bonito, they should defend worse. It's their fault not ours.

It would be even better if they tried to play jogo bonito themselves instead of asking us to do so.

I can imagine Italy playing jogo bonito.

Gattuso doing the seal dribble, Gilardino only trying bicycle kicks, Materazzi dribbling out of the defense.

Brazil would win 5-0.

He should go and master the basics first IMO.
