James :***)
I am not too fussed either way really, whatever happens happens, I am just a bit annoyed at my self, no real reason to get myself in the situation in the first place. Still, I am not exactly living the dream at the moment, so I couldnt be too heartbroken. I guess I will see tomorrow

ffs gimp.
Used to do the same thing with reports, but mainly as we got rewarded on numbers as much as quality, so if anything was left you wanted to hang onto it rather than get it done quicker.
I wouldn't bollock you, assuming you came out and asked where the work you were planning to finish on your return had gone. Even then, if you're in a team environment, it should just get picked up by the next person. Not that hiding it was the best move.

If things do get difficult, you should just say that you tried to do a handover to the girl next to you to cover off the outstanding items, but she wasn't interested, so you felt it'd be OK to pick up things when you got back. You can even hint at the idea that she tried to set you up.
I'm sure your natural charm will see you through these troubled times.

I dont think its particularly even the work that is the issue, just the fact that Ive hidden it really I just figured id come back and get it out of the way, no harm, no foul. I suppose its going to be one of those things that either becomes a huge deal, or is just not going to get mentioned at all.

Yeah I suppose so, you've made it occur to me that they wont have known I was making it so they couldnt find it, after all, why would they have been looking in my drawers in the first place?
I think we can all conclude that I just dont know |

Employers always notice when you're not doing your job, and rarely notice when you're doing a good job. Especially if you're just a skivvy.
sounds like you better start looking for a new job.
