| that is officially THE BEST SENTENCE EVER </BLOCKQUOTE>
seriously BG, what did you even mean there? how are the press meant to 'walk the walk'? you want them to go and play the game themselves?
you've just rolled out a totally meaningless cliché barely a sentence after lambasting the press for doing the same. it's quite quite brilliant.

get rid of mcclaren. get rid of the players that are actually very, very average such as bent and defoe who are only in the england squad based on some insane inflation of their ability by the media.

JOSE MOURINHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though, just get a bold manager who isn't scared to do things and just doesn't care about the media. A strong character.

I'd bring a group of people together as a think-tank, whilst not offering any opinions of my own.
Ah - seems as though you got there first.

1 Get rid of McClaren
2 Try and get some competition in the squad, players don't seem to perform to the level they do with their clubs, mabye because they know they are untouchable. Eg. Lampard, Gerrard, Rio, Terry, Rooney. Remember how good they all were when they were trying to break into the national squad?

If English football is doing OK, then why has the national side under-achieved for many, many years now ? Yup - the tactics from whoever happens to be in charge have to be questioned, but you've also got to look at the players for me. Superb athletes they maybe, but where is the individual skill, technique and flair ? We've been shown up by a good side tonight, but it's not exactly been a one off in recent years. And still, nothing has been learned from that - the same mistakes are made over and over again.
