Exactly, the very same thing applies with salt on chips, I can put it on them if I want it I can't take it off if I don't

Of course it's not being tight, if you dont want ice ask them to not put ice in there.

Some countries in South-East Asis like putting ice in beer, it's not for me though.

Never got the ice thing. It dilutes the drink and spoils the flavour. If a drink is supposed to be cold it will usually already be chilled plus you can never be sure about the hygiene of it all. Probably all sorts of amazingly vicious bacteria in most ice.
