they weren't in by default though, they still had to compete with the rest of the final 10. Though I'm convinced Nicola only got in because she was small, young and wasn't in the final in the first place.

Its a pretty regular tactic nowadays. Get people of little talent to cover a song which is such a good song, it can't possibly fail. Let said artist to get a bit of fame and then in time allow them to get their own character.

If any of those girls could actually sing really well then I'd understand. But they can't.
