Default Advice on buying a new Desktop PC

Okay, i've got a toshiba laptop right now

it's got a celeron 2.59GHz CPU and 240mb of RAM

I want to get myself a really decent desktop PC but i'm not really great with the technical spec.

I want to be able to run AutoCAD on it with a reasonable speed. What kind of system will I need?

If it's just for apps like autocad then any modern PC with an Intel core2duo CPU and 2GB of RAM will do just fine. A separate gfx card (such as nVidia 8600gt) will help too for processing the 3d side of things. If you want it for games too then you'll want one with something like an 8800gt in it.

All depends on your budget tbh.
