Not played since I was about 11, I was ok, but way too defensive. Always am at anything strategical, from Chess to Command & Conquer.

A decade ago I'd have backed myself to beat any of you, but then I discovered girls and drinking. Shame really. Barely remember the rules now.

| Carlsen is currently ranked number 16 in the world with a rating of 2714 according to FIDE. I'm guessing you're talking about the rating system on one of the chess servers. They usually use a similar system to FIDE's, but there's no reason to expect the actual ratings to line up: the numbers themselves are arbitrary, it's the differences between ratings that tell you how likely one player is to beat another.

Chess is okay, but Backgammon is better.

I used to be fb at chess when I was about 10 years old, I won my school competition (7 wins out of 7 games) and went to this tourney in Alnwick, came 6th out of 54 in that and went to the "Gigafinal" in Manchester but was overwhelmed a bit there and came 18th out of 100. back in the days tbh. Ain't played properly for years, hope I'm still fb.

| I would recommend FICS, especially if you download one of the interfaces. Lots of players, from fairly novice to very good. Plenty of options and functions in the interfaces.
