It is to me - I was about 1400-1500 at best.

SlowlyDownward: 2500 is a typical grandmaster rating; the top-rated players are around 2800.

I'm sure i've seen the likes of Magnus Carlson with well over 3500 Could be wrong though.

I think we must be talking about two different rating systems? I have 1874 after beating a couple of better players, but i'm nowhere near grandmaster level playwise (at 2500?) despite my score saying I might be close.

I'm still slowly working my way up the rankings on IECG wher i play voa there server only these days, saves the hassle of having to email all the time

If i ever get enough spare time again i will probably resume my tournament secretary role with them for the email based games which i'm hoping is less used with the server now.

It wasn't fun running 10+ tournaments and playing in 5+ at any given time. I'd get several hundred email a week typically depending on how fast people where moving and how many problems there were in tournaments i was running.

Is it time for another OTF chess tournament yet

The last one died a death shortly after i joined in.
