So what do you think is the best thing to do, BG? Heap pressure on a manager 13 games into his tenure, or look at his track record, think he maybe has some kind of medium or long-term plan in mind, and give him a bit more time?
As far as Smith goes, from what I saw, he deserved to stay on the pitch as he was putting in a decent display. Emre, on the other hand, spent the entire first half putting in rash tackles and giving the ball away - often through little fault of his own as we tried to pick our way through a Liverpool team playing on the break for most of the game, but he was flustered and not terribly effective, so it was a fair shout to bring him off.
The tendency to play right footers on the left and vice versa confuses me slightly, but I'll bet Allardyce has a good reason for doing it. Did he tend to do that at Bolton? I'm not sure.

No pressure at Bolton.
| True. Possibly another reason as to why the crowd have been quick to turn, as he is perhaps seen as a last major link to the old regime. He isn't Mike Ashley's man and that might be part of his undoing in the end. Surely you can only shoot yourself in the foot so many times before something has to change.

No, the crowd have been quick to turn because they're 99% utter morons, and it's force of habit. If they aren't presented with strings of wins and a team that gels straight away, they think they're supporting Real Madrid and demand the manager's head.

| He's heaping the pressure on himself, through the mistakes he is making. I said earlier that I think he'll be given the season, but replaced next summer. Mike Ashley will want to keep bums on seats, and the way Fat Sam is going at the moment - that's something that's not going to happen. The feel good factor that Ashley brought in with him seems to be evaporating, through what's happened on the pitch of recent.
I thought Smith wasn't great today. I feel that him playing in midfield, is weakening the side because even if he is deployed as an AMR, he often comes inside which leaves us short of width.
Fat Sam seems extremely reluctant to field both Charlie and Milner at the same time and on their right sides. I find that unfathomable. It's in part one of the reasons why we are struggling to create chances at present.

| Perhaps they have grown impatient of what has been served up over the last few years, under Souness, Roeder and now Fat Sam ? I'm all for the side progressing and it needs time, but from what I've seen in recent games, there is little to suggest that there is a plan or hope. That's worrying.

you were playing Liverpool ffs.
I don't want to excuse Allardyce but you are struggling with injuries at the back, you are correct that hes not helping himself much but you as fans aren't exactly doing much to help either.
The majority of your fans are just sh*t, you think because you have a big stadium that you can fill to capacity you are a massive club but when looking at your squad its full of deficiencies. 13 games is ridiculous to act like you did today. The longer the fans continue to act like that, then you will never progress anywhere at all.

On the break was the wrong phrase to use. You defended very deeply after the first goal. When you won the ball back, you either looked for Torres in behind the defence or else just kept it and forced us back. I wasn't suggesting that you just sat back and pinged it over the top all the time, but that you allowed us to come forward a lot more.
