I wanted to see how the thread fared without me in its first few days. Also made a vow to myself that I'd abstain from posting in the eL thread this season, proved too hard though so once 2006 is out of the way I'll make another attempt at ignoring this.

Seems to be an influx of newbies here anyways

Yeah I saw that, should have used that option but was trying to get only specific users I had targeted. With the exception of Maz, no one has became a 'regular' so my drive should go down as one of the most horrendous campaigns ever undertaken.

Are you going to tot up the Awards votes from the other thread?

Know I'm not the biggest eircom League follower here, but have just finished giving out to a friend who would rather watch a Derby-Preston game than a Shelbourne-Derry one with a Champions League place at stake :thdn:

I hate having those arguments. :thdn:

Pat Fenlon has stated his intention of getting all Derry City players full time, so players like Martyn, McHugh, Hutton, Beckett - basically the spine of the side - could have either their City future or their current other professions at risk.

Nutsy will also have to get a new backroom staff since two coaches have left for Dungfermline and Hegarty can't fit into the training schedule due to his lumberjacking duties...

Danny O'Connor has become Rovers' first pre-season signing. I'm bored waiting for March, anyone who has the ability to fast forward time please get in touch (unless you are Adam Sandler, if you are please smash your head off a wall several times).

Harps line up African trio

Finn Harps would like to announce their delight in securing the signatures of Nigerian trio Atiku Bello, Michael Phuist and Nwafor Orizu.

The three of them are all centre halves, and are direct replacements for Seán Cooney, Marc Mukendi and Paddy Moore.

Former boss Anthony Gorman had his attention turned to the Nigerians some months ago when Harps' Nigerian defender Eloka Asokuh recommended their services. After discussions with the players respective clubs a deal was reached.

Bello expressed his jubilation at the move, "This is every poverty stricken African's dream to move to a country as rich as somewhere as Ireland."

The trio yesterday evening
