Can't help but think we're gonna lose him too. Bent deal looks to be going through and there's a chance Charlton will bid. Should've wrapped the Freddy deal up a couple of weeks ago but instead we **** about trying to save a few quid.

Having seen who were 3rd and 4th on his targets for forwards I'm dreading to think who we're going to end up with should we miss out on Eastwood too. Any optimism I held for this season is slowly ebbing away.

Hard working but not up to Championship standards. Ball control lets him down. Would be ok lower down, I reckon. No idea how he ended up at Verona.

Tbf having read the reports properly I think Sheff U are trying to shotgun Scunthorpe into agreeing a deal by presenting it as a fait accompli. It may work, of course, but from the look of it Scunny are still (quite rightly from their point of view) still holding out for as much as they can get and hoping they can raffle him higher.

I agree perhaps we need to be a fraction bolder in the market. But Moxey has overturned 15 years of our being fleeced and has now earned us a reputation as good negotiators when it comes to transfers. I don't want to throw that away, but at the same time sometimes speed is of the essence.

Apparently Darren Ward's signing is imminent. Not sure about that, though there are rumours that Birmingham and Sunderland were after him as well.

So he must be really bad.

i am now slightly failing to see the point of it. is he significantly better than craddock/collins/edwards, because it wouldn't appear that he offers the pace that we require?

and ffs, get on with signing eastwood.

Well, it's a done deal now. Ward's signing has been announced on the club site.

There are also rumours linking us with Sunderland's Stephen Elliott. He scored a lot when MM got them promoted a few years ago, so I can see the logic. Dubious injury record, again, though. Don't Wolves ever learn?

Seems like leicester have rejected a 900k bid from us for matty fryatt. Can't help but think that this is a warning to freedy eastwood to sign asap.
