I've heard Moxey is warning not to expect any more imminent signings. My reading of that is that it may be the end of the purchases, and they will now try to bring in loan signings once the Prem clubs have finalised their squads. We shall see.

he'd better not be, we still need a left back and another centre half imo

Good luck, but surely signing players like Eastwood isnt really long term planning as if you do go up players such as him would have to be replaced if you wanted to have a good chance of staying up!?
Why would he need to be replaced? he is only 23 and can improve on his game. Gone are the times we buy overpriced old has beens and in with the young and unproven players who are the future. Mick has done brilliant in the transfer market and i (as well as alot of Wolves fans) have got faith in him. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Just saying mate that if you did get promoted and you keep Freddy Eastwood as your first choice striker then that would be a relegation type player to have. Just my opinion though.

If the current squad was required to keep us up in the Prem should we get promoted, we'd be in dire trouble. I think the strikers would be the least of our worries.

We have a Prem class keeper and possibly a right winger but that's about it atm.

freddy eastwood is good for this division. yeah, jermaine defoe or somebody would be nice in the premiership, but nobody of that level is going to join a championship side.

plus we could never afford defoe in a million years. sucks to say it but we'd probably have to look abroad and end up with someone like henri camara again

Look abroad with McCarthy incharge ?

If anything, his refusal to look abroad will be our UNDOING should we go up. You pay a premium for quality English players, the quality req'd to have any chance of staying in the Prem, and even with Morgans money and increased Sky revenue we'd struggle to build a side anything like capable of avoiding relegation. Even if we COULD afford them the liklehood of them wanting to come here would be very slim.

Sure there may be a bigger gamble involved bringing in overseas players, but that's where the bargains are to be had. I'd rather have Henri Camara , **** that he may be, than Jon Stead if we're trying to establish ourselves in the Prem.

I wasn't talking about henri camara in terms of being shÂ**Â*t, I meant his attitude of throwing his toys out of the pram after we got relegated

and the fact that you have to pay a premium for quality english players is exactly the reason he's more likely to start looking abroad again, although tbf to him he's more likely to look in places like ireland and scotland first where there are still some bargains to be had
