check the virgin train website. Got London - Manchester return over christmas for £46.

Thats first class as well, a massive £8 more expensive than what it would be anyway.

cheapest way to get a train ticket is to go to the nearest station they tend to be a bit cheaper than the prices on the websites

From what i understand they have x number of cheap seats and its first come first served. Once they go then thats it. if there isnt none on there isnt much you can do but book earlier next time. Weekends are going to obviously be booked quicker than through the week

erm, well its a low mileage old car and i dont want to put 1000 miles on it in a weekend.

well i only found out about 2 weeks ago and only just got the time off work for it.

Megabus is probably the cheapest but takes twice as long as the train.
