Well chaps, but of a tough group. Needless to say we probably will not qualify, but why break 50 years of habit? Actually looking to go to all of the games this time, there'll be some good trips in there methinks.

We were always unlikely to qualify anyway. What i'm hoping for is for us to be able to steadily improve to a sufficient level where we're going to be able to bring the players the experience needed to qualify for the Euros next time around.

if we can somehow manage to finish as one of the best runners up, then that'll be fantastic.

Finland losing Hodgson, will very much depend on his replacement as to whether or not they're going to continue to be as strong as they are. Russia may not have Hiddink by the time qualifiers come around, so who knows what could happen there.

The draw isn't the greatest, but it could have been far worse.

No, I agree. With the current crop of players and their ages I think we're aiming for Euro 2012, hopefully bringing around a decent seeding so we don't end up being fourth or fifth seeds. Germany and Russia are obviously better than us, we've done well recently against Finland and Azerbaijan - though both will beat us if we're not playing well - and Liechtenstein are a bit of an unknown thing.

Third isn't impossible for us at all in this group.
