As much as I enjoy the PDC World Championships, I can't help wondering whether expanding the tournament by three days and 32 matches is a bit of unnecessary overkill - especially when you consider that in the first round the big players have been drawn against the minnows which makes shock results unlikely.

Still, it should be a good championship - at least when it really gets going with the second round games on Boxing Day.
