I think it's because people can pretend they're in the Orient without pushing the comfort zone.

it is. most people judge a place by whether the local can speak or understand English. hence why hong kong is usually highly rated

hong kong is a bubble... its safe (ridiculously so- no muggings etc, can walk anywhere at 4 in the morning with no risk of getting hurt), its a great place for clubbers, its technologically advanced and if you like cars, you can spend weeks in some of the parking lots.

Never been keen on staying in the UK for any length of time and I have always said I am not back here forever.
