Considering he cost an order of magnitude less, that's hardly the shock of the year.
Haven't seen anything of the game yet, but I'll take the opportunity to re-iterate that Defoe should not be anywhere near the Tottenham or England side. He's ****ing woeful, and if we are offered real money for him in January we should take it.
But then with the last manager Alan "No premiership goal in over two years" Smith is picked for the squad as a striker, so by that criterion I guess Defoe is a world beater.
Kaboul isn't bad, he's simply not a defender. Stick him in as a holding midfielder, and electronically tag him so his ankle explodes if he ventures into the final third during open play, and he'll do okay.
