On Ding I mean, the one where Ronnie consoled him, which was the tourney after he walked out of the previous tourney, hope that makes sense |

Without wanting to get into a debate on him because people know where I stand when it comes to him, I disagree really, he's not going to have a decade of dominance from now, not least because of his age. I know he's hardly ancient but after 3-4 years he'll become less consistent than he already is, can't be helped.

Ding is a strange one, he was looking absolutely fantastic until that match and then he just seemed to lose it.
Signs are in recent weeks that a year on, he is finally starting to get his form back, not least by setting a world record against Hendry on Thursday night of 495 points without reply. Incredible really, though the match was a dead rubber.

not for a while I'd guess, not been paying much attention to it over the past couple of years, before that I'd watch whatever was on the BBC, but more and more seems to be going over to Sky, plus I don't even have a tv now at all.
Couldn't even tell you who won the world champs last year without checking, Higgins? Murphy winning it was the last one I watched properly, which would've been the previous year I think.
yeah I just checked it was Higgins, vaguely remember it, that and Dott the year before, who I couldn't gaf about as long as he beat Ebdon.

Was March 2005 fwiw
Sky don't actually have anything other than the Premier League and the BBC haven't lost any, it's just that there are far, far fewer events these days because World Snooker are a complete and utter shambles. Eurosport are doing a fantastic job with the other events though, really generating interest in mainland Europe.

Ok I just looked, it was actually 2005, he won the Irish Masters and the Welsh open.
He also won the Irish Masters this year but apparently that's not a Ranking event anymore?
I've not watched as much Snooker in the last couple of years as I'd have liked but Ronnie has always been inconsistent, I have never seen anyone as good as him when he's on top of his game, just my opinion.

Correct on the Irish. Imo Hendry is still the best ever, but yeah, done this in the snooker thread many a time |

Alain Robidoux blatantly would have gone on to be the best Snooker player of all time if he didn't have his cue snapped |

Tbf Graeme Dott smashed his to pieces at a service station and not long after won the world title with his replacement. Really burst Alain's bubble |
