As to the CONCACAF draw, I'm trying to figure out why El Salvador have to play in the 1st knockout round, but Guyana get a 1st round bye. Guyana have never done anything. El Salvador usually gets to at least the 1st group stage. |
Guayana is in South America, therefore it's cooler than El Salvador.
But the real reason is probably because the seedings were based on FIFA's ranking.

Kazakhstan v England set to be a classic fixture, Almaty where they play home games is three and a half thousand miles from London.
Away trips that would be more convenient:
Accra, Ghana
The North Pole
Baghdad, Iraq
New York City
The FA will have a headache over when to schedule that one.
| Pfft. New York to LA is longer than London to Almaty.
Not that it'll stop England from adding it to their litany of excuses. Will probably also be too hot as well.

Probably. And having a hard time figuring out how Guyana is about 50 spots higher than El Salvador.

A decent manager and Ireland should nick 2nd spot, as long as Paul McShame is nowhere near the side? Still think he's "fb" Finneys? I told you he was clownshoes from the start.

Not too bad a draw for Scotland I suppose.
Holland will be tough as expected and I'm sure we'll be able to make a game of it. Norway did well and nearly qualified behind Greece and Turkey and Macedonia are going to be no pushovers as they have shown recenly they are capable of getting results against the top teams. I think Iceland done over N.Ireland twice as well.
Could have been worse |

I guess it doesn't matter if they were playing Turks and Caicos Reserves in those matches - they still got the points. Plus El Salvador have been on the wane for a few years, no?

A bit.
tbf, I don't pay much attention to Guyana except for every 4 years.

| I just love the comments from some of these people. The Irish teams have probably got the hardest groups, & yet their fans & others seem to think they well be a doddle, now NI won a few games, & The republic lost a few. Think again.
NI will do will to get into the top 4, whilst the republic could easily get the wooden spoon, as they don't have any really bad sides in their group. I'm not anti these teams & would like them to do well, but the reality is that to get into the top two would be a great achievement.
Us English our always overestimating our chances, but in fairness with the players at our disposal should qualify, but some of you people are laughable in how your sides will just brush aside these feeble foreigners. Hilarious.
