well it doesnt really matter if they finish 4th cause either a) will lose in CL qualifiers anyway b) embarrass themselves in CL

would be great to see any team break the top 4, certainly Aston Villa, Everton, Portsmouth and Man City are in there with a chance. Not sure I can see it though, Man City while have some good players and have done impressively so far have to pick up their away form. They're being buoyed by an excellent home record so far that I'm not sure they're going to sustain the whole season.

Like I posted in the City thread earlier, our away results this season are:
West Ham W 2-0
Blackburn L 1-0
Arsenal L 1-0
Fulham D 3-3
Chelsea L 6-0
Portsmouth D 0-0
Not had the easiest of away fixtures, certainly no disgrace to lose against Chelsea, Arsenal and Blackburn away

no and it won't happen. If it did Sven would be off to Chelsea or Madrid or somewhere else on the back of it. I'd much rather a club like Blackburn or Everton did it 'for the good of English football', on the back of long term squad building rather than just throwing a lot of money around.
Don't see how City fans deserve success either just because their neighbours have been successful, why don't teams with unsuccessful neighbours deserve success?
| Pretty harsh to say that when we've been building on our academy for a good number of years now and theres still a good presence of our youth academy in the squad despite all the money we've been given </BLOCKQUOTE>
it's very easy to focus team-building around bringing kids through when you've little/no cash to spend though. will be very interesting to see if (and to what extent) that homegrown presence in the squad is maintained if Sven is given anything like the sort of funds you berties are getting all giddy about.
